So I have notebooks full of stuff...

24th Jul, 2011 | 02:09 pm

Is anybody remotely bothered about reading it anymore? I mean, there's a whole new season (not series, clearly, it's American now) of Torchwood I'm not even watching. Is anybody still interested in the old characters, from back before it started making even less sense and more pornographic noises?

Or should I just shut up and go away and let everybody else get on with the new ships and stuff, and try and find something else to do with my miserable little life?

EDIT: O_O Unexpected amount of people. Alright, then...

I'd still like to read it.

I've been watching the new series but I've not warmed to any of the new characters yet - so I've no interest in reading about them. I do want to read more about Jack and Ianto though. (And Tosh and Owen too.)

I AM STILL INTERESTED IN THE OLD STUFF. I haven't written a single thing for the new stuff yet. As far as fic is concerned, it's all old!TW for me!!! Don't toss the notebook!

(*coughwhatnewstuffcoughcoughcough* *hide*) The notebook's safe anyway, it's got a tiny smidgeon of other stuff in it. A teeny, tiny amount. I just figured if nobody read this place anymore or was off gallivanting with the not-quite-sci-fi works of RTD then there wasn't much point typing stuff up and posting it. >_< I seem to have been proved wrong though.

I did not even have (or rather make) time for the new series. I'd rather have "Old" TW anytime. Please, do not throw them away!

Of course you should continue writing! You're writing classic Torchwood, and it's "classic" for a reason. Just as people are still writing and reading classic Trek (my favorite Star Trek series) I think fans will still want to read classic Torchwood for a long time to come. At least I hope so.

And I'm saying this as someone who is enjoying the spinoff series, Miracle Day (but yes, it is a very different show.)

Feels weird to consider series 1 and 2 "classic" when they haven't stopped making it and some of the same actors are carrying on... >_< Oh well.

Random lurker here. *waves*

Please don't stop posting your stuff! I'm new to Torchwood (but don't let that fool you; I haven't been brought in by Miracle Day. Netflix, baby), and I am still very interested in reading about "old" Torchwood, especially as "old" Torchwood is my favorite.

I'll poke my head out from under the lurking shadow and wave. I only discovered TW late this past autumn and your stories this past month. I thought I'd throw my hat in and say that yes there is someone out there still reading... pathetic little me :)

Loving all that I've found so far. My favorite... Cedric the sentient shower curtain.

Just for you:

Ianto walked into the bathroom, following the sound of running water and waving a hand to dispel clouds of steam, and finally found Jack, as expected. More or less. Albeit naked and in the bathtub - expected - he was also sitting down and playing with letter-shaped magnets on the inside of the old tub, the ceramic covering so thinned by age that they stuck perfectly well. Not expected.

Jack glanced up and grinned at him. "Teaching Cedric to read and write. Want to help?"

The shower curtain swayed forward, bending its edges around the letters scattered over the side, and shuffled them into place.

Hello Ianto

"Hello Cedric," Ianto responded, since there wasn't much else he could say to that.

"Come on in," Jack told him, leaning both arms on the sides of the bath and looking him up and down. "The water's lovely."

Ianto considered for all of five seconds, then decided what the hell, the others had gone home, and stripped, folding his clothes and leaving them outside in Jack's room so they didn't absorb too much moisture, then climbing in the tub facing Jack, who'd drawn up his legs to give him room and was grinning like his birthday had come early.

Cedric rippled over to give Ianto a quick hug, then arranged the magnets to read This is fun I love being here.

Ianto gave him a pat, and settled down to help Jack teach him some essential phrases while the warm water eased the day's aches and pains.

Jack worked a leg between his before long, shuffling closer as they both reached over and around each other to make sentences on the side of the bath, teaching Cedric pronouns, verb conjugations, basic syntax, and a considerable amount of slang, much to Ianto's amusement. They were both still giggling at how fast Cedric picked up the many variations of the word fuck when the shower curtain swept most of the letters aside, wrote a short sentence, and rippled over to pat them both briefly on the shoulder before it went to curl up around the shower head.

Ianto and Jack blinked at the side of the bath, magnets arranged to read He loves you, and avoided eye contact for a moment.

And then Ianto, biting his lip, gave Jack a sideways glance and discovered that he'd gone a little redder in the cheeks than even the hot water accounted for. Unable to help a smile, he leaned over and caught Jack's mouth in a kiss.

"Let's get dry and go to bed," he murmured when they parted, and Jack sighed agreement.

The words were still there when they emerged in the morning.

OMG, Squee! A little comment fic just for me?! So sweet and wonderful. Trust the boys to teach Cedric bad language and for the sentient shower curtain to see what's clear about their relationship (poor thing must get quite the eye full being their curtain!). You've totally made my day!
